Cap Horn

The mythical Cape Horn was discovered in 1616. For years, it was an important shipping route for sailboats between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. It is known as the end of the world and was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in June 2005.

Our most beautiful trip
If you want the best cruise for exciting excursions, excellent service, excellent food - this cruise is perfect. The cruise was as good as the documentaries we saw on the ship. The ship is tidy and clean - the outside windows are rinsed with fresh water at the port. Part of the total experience is the international composition of passengers - very diverse and interesting. Everything is super organized: meals, shore excursions, disembarking from the boat, zodiacs for excursions, etc. The dining room is great. Food is varied and abundant at each meal. The animation is either a film or documentary relevant to the history of the region, or information on the current state of what is on each excursion, often accompanied by images. There's a visit to the bridge. Passengers are divided into groups according to the language they understand or the group to which they previously belonged. The tour guides are very familiar with plants, history, geography, geology, aquatic life - many speak 3 to 6 languages. Suggestions are available for an offshore port excursion like Ushuaia. Passengers are treated with the greatest care while being transported with the degree of speed inherent in any excursion. Overall, the crew members are very competent in performing the various tasks assigned to them and are friendly, paying attention to all members of each group. The instructions are crystal clear. Information is superlative regarding the conditions of excursion levels, if any, so that individuals can make informed and responsible choices. Nothing is promised that the cruise cannot deliver - if time is a factor that prevents an excursion from starting, everything is well explained. Safety is the first consideration, as it should be. We are really impressed by Stella Australis' "first class" performance.
